Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey (I used dark meat.)
1 large egg
1/4 cup romano cheese
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
About 1 cup (or so) of your favorite BBQ sauce (thin consistency, not thick)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients together (except for BBQ sauce) in a large bowl and mix until just combined. Taking 2 tablespoons of the mixture at a time, roll into meatballs of desired size.
In a large skillet, add about 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil. Allow it to heat up for a couple of minutes, then add meatballs to the skillet. Cook until lightly browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes total. They do NOT need to be cooked all the way through, as they will finish cooking in the oven...
Transfer meatballs to a baking dish and top with BBQ sauce, making sure each meatball is coated. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatballs are 165 degrees.
Makes about 13-14 meatballs.
